The Intergovernmental Agreement on the project Nabucco, providing for the supply of natural gas from the Caspian basin to Europe, bypassing Russia, signed on Monday in Ankara, the heads of government of five of the six countries involved in the transaction. The document was signed by Turkey, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. Germany is also participating in the project, signed the agreement did not set, so it is not a transit country. This country is regarded as one of the possible participants in an ambitious project, but to normalization of relations with the United States to Iran joining the Nabucco appears unlikely. Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the signing ceremony, said he hoped to take part of Russia and Iran in the implementation Nabucco. 'We call for adherence to the project of Iran, when conditions permit, as well as hope for the participation of Russia, "- he said.
